Frenzie
Frenzie spins oldschool funk, hip hop, disco, and house records – and he has been known to champion a few other styles during his time as well. For Frenzie, it’s not about what style of music you DJ, but more about the quality of the music, and the context you play it in.

With parents deeply embedded in the music industry, music was a natural part of the life of Shannon Briggs aka Frenzie. Regular visits to recording studios, live performances, and even watching his father perform to audiences around the world was not out of the ordinary.
Perhaps the single biggest influence was a visit to New York in the late seventies, during the time that old school hip hop culture, subway graffiti, and street corner B-Boying was in full swing. It all clearly rubbed off on him, as some of Frenzie’s earliest ambitions where to open up a discotheque in the vacant building around the corner of his school – he was 6 years old at the time.
By the time the late 80s came around, Frenzie was getting his mum to pick him up from gigs – his own gigs – where he would deejay a selection of funk, hip hop, disco, and house beats to an appreciative crowd almost 10 years older than him.
Twenty years later, and Frenzie is still playing records for a living. He’s done a few other important things in that time as well: managed one of the most beloved night clubs in Sydney (The Globe), toured around Australia playing at some of the biggest festivals and events in the country and smuggled two and a half crates of dusty records through customs from Argentina.
Currently, Frenzie can be heard each Friday lunch time hosting GROOVE THERAPY on 2SER FM – A popular live radio show and podcast focusing on the last 4 decades of dance music history – and can also be heard weekly at almost all quality musically discerning venues around Sydney.
Event highlights: The Globe, Big Day Out, Livid, Vibes On A Summers Day
