Boffa

DJ Tim Boffa stormed onto the Sydney scene a decade ago, playing deep house at some of the city’s most respected and adored clubs. He is also one half of the successful Telefunken duo.

Style: House, deep house

Tim Boffa began DJing at age 17 when he saved up to buy a second hand pair of decks and a mixer that was probably older than him! After only 4 months practice in the bedroom Boffa scored his first residency at one of Sydney’s original nightclubs Rogues playing the warm up set every Friday night. Rogues was on the more commercial edge though it taught Tim an important lesson…not to compromise his deeper, funkier style while still keeping the floor busy.
After a year at Rogues Boffa began to target the clubs that he wanted to be at, the clubs playing deeper house to music lovers. Boffa’s style evolved throughout time and he finally found what he was looking for, as more and more records from the west coast of America hit the Sydney shelves. Since 2000 he has landed residencies and regular guest spots at Sydney’s most renowned clubs and events, including Home, Globe, Gas, Chinese Laundry and Slip Inn.
